goldenrods & asters

The inspiration behind our name, golden aster creative, is drawn from the pages of Robin Wall Kimmerer’s book, “Braiding Sweetgrass”*. Goldenrods and Asters are two native flowers often found growing side-by-side in the wild. When they grow together, they attract more pollinators than if they grow individually—a beautiful reflection of reciprocity and the abundance possible with complementary collaboration. Through the example of Goldenrods and Asters, Kimmerer explores the harmonious blending of seemingly contradictory realms—science and art, matter and spirit. This ethos of “both/and” lies at the core of my business. I believe deep collaboration empowers all participants to thrive, and it’s precisely what I strive to do in partnership with my clients.

Hello! I'm Haley, a multi-passionate individual with a knack for problem solving. As a seasoned product manager with over six years at Microsoft, I've steered teams through ambiguous challenges, turning them into cohesive visions and successful outcomes. I take pride in finding patterns and bringing structure to the often nebulous realm of ideas. What truly fulfills me is catalyzing "ah-ha" moments for others, whether it's providing a fresh perspective or finding a creative way to break a complex concept into clear understanding.

My experience, supported by my education in Computer Science and Cognitive Science from UC Berkeley, has underscored the essential role design plays in successful ventures. I founded golden aster creative because I saw an exciting opportunity to leverage design thinking and processes to empower others to bring their ideas to life. I'm excited to connect with other creative entrepreneurial minds and delve into fun and challenging problems together.
